Case Study
Company:
The company manufactures special tools for metalworking.Disability and impairment of the employee:
The man is severely disabled and has a visual impairment. His ability to perceive visual information, such as numbers or signs, is limited.Training and job:
The man has completed vocational training as a cutting machine operator specializing in turning technology and operates a laser processing center in the company's production area.Workplace and job:
The two CNC-controlled laser processing centers have been used in the production area since the beginning of the year. Due to the theoretical and practical training content in the field of CNC technology, the cutting machine operator is able to operate the CNC control of the centers, in which the special tools are cut out with the help of a laser. In addition to monitoring the centers, his work tasks also include dimensional and quality control of the raw material and the sometimes complicated finished parts. The cutting machine operator had difficulties reading the measuring devices (measuring calipers with different measuring ranges) and measuring scales. However, the measurements are crucial for the quality of the products. In order to compensate for the limitations in reading, measuring devices (calipers with different measuring ranges) with a digital display as well as an interface for data and measured value output and an LED display for large display of the measured values were purchased and used.
